Qualifications and Experience of Registered Provider and Registered Manager
Registered Manager – Professor Tony Wright, LLM DM FRCS, Consultant ENT Surgeon, Professor of Otorhinolaryngology and Director of the Institute of Laryngology and Otology, University College London and Honorary Consultant ENT Surgeon at the Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital. Professor Wright’s current major research interest is in imaging relating to the planning of surgical procedures, training and computer assisted surgery.
Professor Wright is immediate Past President of the Otolaryngological Research Society, member of the Specialist Advisory Committee in Otolaryngology for JCHST, and Editorial Board member of the Journal of Clinical Otolaryngology, as well as a reviewer for various professional journals. He is also a scientific advisor for Deafness Research UK and the RNID. He headed the EEC Hearing Impairment Programme to produce the report on “Hair Cell Distributions in the Normal Human Cochlea”.
Practice Manager – Mrs. Sharon Nelson. Sharon is experienced in managing medical practices in both the private sector and NHS, she also has management experienced gained in higher education. She is qualified at BSc (Hons) in health and disease, health promotion and social science and has both ONC and HNC Certificates in business studies (finance).

Professor Tony Wright LL.M, DM, FRCS Consultant Otolaryngologist - Since 1982 Tony Wright has been an ENT consultant at the Royal National Throat Nose and Ear Hospital and more recently at the Royal Free Hospital as well. Prior to that he worked in Liverpool and held a 2 year Medical Research Council Fellowship to investigate drug induced damage in the human inner ear. Not surprisingly he has maintained his interest in hearing and balance and this is now his specialist field. He was the a past president of the ENT Research Society and sat on the Specialist Advisory Committee of the Royal College of Surgeons to assess the quality of training of junior ENT surgeons.
Mr Charles East MB, BS London 1980 FRCS, final fellowship (Otolaryngology) Royal College of Surgeons of England April 1986. Consultant ENT Surgeon at the Royal National Throat Nose and Ear Hospital and the Royal Free Hampstead NHS Trust. He is lead clinician for the Rhinoplasty service at the Royal National Throat Nose and Ear Hospital. He is an honorary senior lecturer in the University of London and course director for the Plastic Surgery of the Nose and Techniques in Facial Plastic Surgery run by the Institute of Laryngology and Otology, University College London and the RNTNE. He is UK Vice President of the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery and regularly lectures at national and international meetings. He is a faculty member at the Royal College of Surgeons for minimally invasive sinus surgery and course tutor on the National and International minimally invasive sinus surgery courses. He practices general otolaryngology and has developed a sub-speciality interest in nasal, sinus and facial plastic surgery including aesthetic nasal, ear and eyelid surgery.
Mr John Graham FRCS. John Graham is a consultant ENT surgeon at the Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital (RNTNEH) in central London. His special interests are: Children's ENT problems, including glue Ear, otology (ear surgery), hearing problems in adults and children and cochlear implants for children and adults. He is currently Director of the Cochlear Implant Programme at the RNTNEH, President of the European Society of Paediatric Otolaryngology and President of the section of Otology at the Royal Society of Medicine in London.
He also works as a general ENT surgeon, with an interest in voice problems, and at the voice clinic at the RNTNEH. He has considerable experience in Botulinum toxin injection into the vocal cords. He deals with nasal allergy and sinus infections in adults and children and regularly performs endoscopic sinus surgery, as well as treating standard ENT problems such as tonsillitis.
Miss Lydia Badia LMS, MB BS FRCS (ORL HNS) is a Consultant Surgeon at the Royal National Throat Nose and Ear Hospital. She is also a Honorary Senior Lecturer to the Institute of Laryngology and Otology, University College London. She is an ENT Surgeon who specialises in rhinology. This encompasses an understanding of the function, medical and surgical management of the nose and sinuses in health and disease. She also specializes in other facial, aesthetic and cosmetic surgery, which includes line reduction, eye surgery, and cosmetic ear surgery and lip enhancement.
Mr Anthony Aymat FRCS (ORL-HNS) Anthony Aymat is a Consultant Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon. He qualified in Barcelona Medical School. He trained in the South West region and London where he also worked at Consultant level for 4 years. He undertakes the full range of ear, nose and throat conditions but has a special interest in ear and hearing problems in adults and children. He also deals with nose and sinus disease, as well as voice, swallowing and snoring problems. He is involved in under and post graduate medical training as well as teaching of nurses and paramedical groups. He is part of the faculty in the surgical skills course at the Royal College of Surgeons, temporal bone course in Barcelona and Intercollegiate Examination Course at the Royal National Nose, Throat and Ear Hospital in London.
Mr Harsha Kariyawasam MBBS PhD MRCP (UK) BSc (hons) Consultant in Allergy and Medical Rhinology - Dr. Harsha Kariyawasam is the Clinical Lead for Airway Allergy at the Royal National Throat Nose Ear Hospital, London. He read medicine at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical College, University of London and awarded an additional year of study in Biochemistry (Molecular Genetics) at Imperial College London.
General medical training was undertaken in London, and specialist training in Allergy, Respiratory Medicine and Rhinology was completed over a 7 year period at the Royal Brompton Hospital as Senior House Officer, Clinical Tutor and Specialist Registrar. Further training at the Hammersmith Hospital (Airway Allergy and Disease), St Mary’s Hospital (General Allergy) and St Thomas Hospital (Skin Allergy) was also undertaken.
He was awarded the highly prestigious PhD Thesis Prize in 2008 from the National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College London for work on how allergens injure the airway and the repair response to such injury.

Nick trained and worked within the NHS at the beginning of his career, before spending 5 years with a private hearing aid company to further his commercial and theoretical knowledge. Now employed by ENT at 150 to run the private audiology service and supply private hearing systems. He is a full member of the British Academy of audiology and on the state registered list of clinical physiologists, (RCCP). He is also fully registered by the hearing aid council (HAC)
Shamim Patel – Audiologist, The Audiology Room - BSc (Hons) in Audiology from the University College London in 2009
Shamim began as a student Audiologist in her third year at Univeristy and worked over 3 years in the NHSD where she gained all necessary skills as a full time Audiologist. This included performing in depth audiological and diagnostic assessments of hearing and balance function, hearing aid fittings, rehabilitation and hdaring therapy. Shamim is now a resident Aduiologist at 150 Harley Street who works alongside the Ear Nose and Trhoat Consultants and is responsible for all the diagnostic testing for hearing as well as the provision of noise protection products within the Audiology Room and assisting the hearing aid practice in general. She is Registered on the Council of Clinical Physiologists, a Registered Hearing Aid Audiologist and is also a member of the British academy of Audiology.
Dee Savvas – Practice Manager , The Audiology Room. Dee [Diploma in Typing and Business Administration] has worked for twenty years in a variety of administrative, PA and office management roles building up a wealth of knowledge and experience. Dee has a warm approachable manner and is always happy to help patients and answer queries.
Other Personnel
Hannah Azimzadeh - Hannah is a Specialist Nurse here at 150 Harley Street. Hannah graduated from Middlesex University in 2006 with a DIPHE in General Nursing. She went on to specialise in theatre nursing at the Royal National Throat Nose and Ear Hospital until 2009. After leaving the RNTN&E Hannah joined a GP practice in Southwark as a Practice Nurse, this includes incorporating her ENT background in her daily tasks. While there Hannah has increased her knowledge and practiced many aspects of nursing including Spirometry, Asthma care, Diabetes Care, Sexual Health, Family Planning, Child and Travel Immunisation and Cytology.
Hannah has spent time in Primary Care training other nurses in her more experienced clinical fields. Her main line of training has been in ear care. She is also using her skills to write and maintain protocols and policies surrounding patient care and clinical excellence.
Laurence Irving – Secretary. Laurence Joined the staff at 150 Harley Street just over three years ago. He has worked in a variety of industries during his career, most recently as a manager within a major national charity developing and growing their mail order trading business. He is always happy to answer patient queries and has a friendly approachable manner.
Clive Hamilton-Stone – Secretary Bec Business Studies Diploma. Clive is an experienced PA having held senior level business and administration positions with medical charities and interior design firms. He has excellent secretarial and IT skills and is dedicated to providing the highest levels of customer care.
Sylvia Hoenderkamp – Secretary. Sylvia has spent her career in roles that have developed her high level of administration and organisational skills. She has a friendly approachable manner and a willingness to help with patient queries and find solutions to problems. Before becoming part of our team she worked for many years with private educational establishments.
Reception Staff
Judy Packard – Receptionist. Judy has been the Receptionist at 150 Harley Street for many years. She is a mature lady with a wealth of life experiences. For twenty years she ran Grove Park Playgroup, in Chiswick, where she developed the skills needed for Reception work in Harley Street. Immediately prior to working in Harley Street, she worked for the Fund Managers at Shell Pensions. She is able to answer most patient queries but detailed queries are passed on to the doctors’ secretaries.
Salma Begum - Receptionist. Salma joined us from Whipps Cross Univerisity Hospital where she developed a high level of reception skills. She has a caring friendly manner.
Marta Przybysz - Receptionist. Marta is a highly motivated lady with excellent administraton and reception experience and strong communication skills.
