Foreign Bodies
It is common for young children to insert foreign bodies into the ears or the nose, which may result in discharge and/or pain. If you suspect that a foreign body is causing symptoms it is wise to seek an ENT consultation where after examination and diagnosis the consultant will remove the offending object using a variety of methods including: forceps, syringing or microsuction.
Occasionally animal foreign bodies such as fleas, ants or flies may enter the external ear causing distressing tinnitus. These are easily removed. |
